Travis KelceĀ is setting the record straight ā and apparently, even Christmas spirit has rules.
The Kansas City Chiefs star tight end, 36, jumped right into one of the mostĀ heatedĀ holiday debates of the season:Ā When is it officially okay to start decorating for Christmas?Ā š
In a new Instagram video shared by the Chiefs on Friday, November 14, players were asked the age-old question āĀ āNovember 1, or after Thanksgiving?āĀ ā and letās just say, the locker room was divided.
Without missing a beat, Kelce ā rocking his signature confidence ā declared his answer loud and clear:
āAfter Thanksgiving. Come on, man ā everybody knows that!ā š

As teammates walked through the Arrowhead tunnels, opinions started flying faster than a Mahomes spiral.
Rashee RiceĀ hesitated.Ā Kareem HuntĀ backed Kelce, insisting that Christmas should wait until after the turkeyās carved. But others? They werenāt so sure.
Hollywood BrownĀ said he starts onĀ November 29, whileĀ Derrick NnadiĀ admitted, āPeople start decorating after Halloween!ā ā a statement that drew groans from the āafter Thanksgivingā purists.
EvenĀ Patrick MahomesĀ chimed in, siding with his tight end bestie:
āDay after Thanksgiving, man. Thatās when itās go time.ā

Ā Kelceās Christmas Rules Have History
Kelceās opinion might sound new to fans, but itās actually part of a long-runningĀ Kelce family tradition.
On an earlier episode of theĀ New HeightsĀ podcast, Travis and his brotherĀ Jason KelceĀ got nostalgic about their childhood holiday routines.
āThanksgiving has always been the date,ā Jason said.
āYeah, thatās when weād put the tree up,ā Travis agreed. āIt kicks off Christmas ā thatās the start of the season.ā
The brothers even joked that in the Kelce household, Thanksgiving wasnāt just a holiday ā it was aĀ ceremonial countdownĀ to Christmas lights, carols, and chaos.
āThanksgiving is the pinnacle day,ā Jason laughed. āIām basically a Thanksgiving ambassador.ā

Thereās just one problem ā theĀ ChiefsĀ wonāt have time to deck the halls this year.
Kansas City is set to play onĀ Thanksgiving DayĀ against theĀ Dallas Cowboys, and again onĀ Christmas, hosting theĀ Denver BroncosĀ at Arrowhead Stadium.
That meansĀ Travis Kelce and Patrick MahomesĀ will likely swap ornaments for touchdowns this season. But fans are already joking that Taylor Swift might sneak a Christmas tree into the suite anyway ā especially after last yearās viral Christmas Day photo ofĀ Taylor and Brittany MahomesĀ celebrating in matching red. ā¤ļø
āØĀ The Grinch-Free Takeaway
While half of Chiefs Kingdom says āthe earlier, the better,ā Travis Kelce is holding his ground like a linebacker at the goal line.
āThanksgiving first,ā he said firmly. āThen Christmas. Thatās how itās supposed to be.ā
But whether youāre teamĀ November 1stĀ orĀ post-Turkey Day, one thingās certain ā if Travis Kelce says the holiday season starts after Thanksgiving, Chiefs fans might just listen. š
š¶Ā So go ahead ā grab your ornaments, pour the eggnog, and press play on āAll I Want for Christmas Is Youā⦠but only after the leftovers are gone.
