10 MINUTES AGO: Bryson DeChambeau has made decision on LIV Golf future with contract set to expire👇 – Luxury Blog

Bryson DeChambeau is ready to negotiate his next deal to stay with LIV Golf as he prepares to defend his U.S. Open title.

DeChambeau reportedly received a $125 million contract to join LIV Golf in June 2022. He signed a four-and-a-half year deal with the league, which means he is tied to playing exclusively on the LIV Golf series through the 2026 season.

The 31-year-old, who regularly tinkers with his bag, has emerged as arguably the circuit’s leading star since signing on with LIV Golf. Amid rumors linking him with a switch back to the PGA Tour as contracts expire, the reigning U.S. Open champion – a popular star on YouTube – suggested he won’t be going anywhere.

“Next year is when it ends,” DeChambeau told reporters at Oakmont. “We’re looking to negotiate end of this year and I’m very excited.

“They see the value in me, I see the value in what they can provide and I believe we’ll come to some sort of resolution on that.

“I’m super excited for the future. LIV’s not going anywhere. H.E. (LIV chairman Yasir Al-Rumayyan) has been steadfast in his belief on team golf and wherever everybody believes it or not, I believe it’s a viable option.

“I know what LIV brings to the table. And I’m excited for the future of what golf is going to be.”

LIV Golf attracted some of the biggest names in the sport following its controversial launch in 2022, with the likes of Phil Mickelson, Brooks Koepka, and DeChambeau signing deals worth more than $100 million. However, these agreements are set to expire soon.

According to Golfweek, the same eye-watering offers will not be made a second time around. It will be interesting to see just how critical money was in the equation to swap the PGA Tour for LIV Golf.

DeChambeau has enjoyed an up-and-down LIV Golf season so far. He finished T6 at the season-opening event in Riyadh before suffering a disappointing run of T18 at Adelaide and T20 at Hong Kong.

He snuck into the top 10 with a tied-10th finish in Singapore before finding form when he logged a fifth place at Miami ahead of The Masters. At Augusta, DeChambeau fell away after entering the final day paired with Rory McIlroy, who secured his first green jacket in a playoff.

DeChambeau bounced back from his Masters heartache by finishing tied-second at Mexico City, with Joaquinn Niemann claiming his third win of the LIV Golf campaign. He won in Korea and finished tied-fourth in Virginia, either side of finishing five shots behind winner Scottie Scheffler at the PGA Championship.
