If Tiger Woods is reading this, he might want to sit down as Bubba Watson makes this absolutely insane claim about his historic 2000 season. – News

If Tiger Woods is reading this, he might want to sit down. Although, sadly, he probably is sitting down already given his most recent injury.

In any evnet, Bubba Watson recently weighed in on Tiger’s historic 2000 season. And delivered an absolutely bonkers take that the 15-time major champ is not going to be thrilled to hear.

The two-time Masters champ recently sat down with Sean Zak of Golf.com to discuss a wide variety of topics. But, not surprisingly, it’s this humdinger of a take that’s making the rounds on Golf Twitter. Have a listen for yourself:

Wow. Just wow. “I know Tiger did some stuff in 2000, but . . . ” Talk about the understatement of all time! That’s like saying “Secretariat did some stuff in 1973”!

As you can see, Watson was trying to compliment Scottie Scheffler’s amazing season last year. And it was amazing. And his point that Scheffler faced overall better, deeper competition isn’t crazy. But Woods was an absolute wagon in 2000.

We didn’t think we’d have to review this, but let’s do it just in case. Woods played in 20 PGA Tour events in 2000, winning nine times. Scheffler’s official numbers from last year are seven wins in 19 starts, although he also won the Olympics and Tiger’s Hero World Challenge. So the raw numbers are impressively similar. But here’s where we put on our Stephen A. Smith hat and say, “HOWEVAH!”

Woods won three majors to Scottie’s one. And two of those, both Opens, were historic blowouts. Woods won the U.S. Open at Pebble Beach by a ridiculous 15(!) shots. And then won by eight shots at St. Andrews the following month. Insane.

So, yeah, you could say he “Did some stuff,” Bubba. Again, we shouldn’t be having to remind golf fans about this! SMH as the kids say. SMH.
