Packers end 55-year winless streak in Pittsburgh with 35–25 comeback victory over Steelers

PITTSBURGH, PA — For the first time since 1970, the Green Bay Packers walked out of Pittsburgh with a win — and they did it with a quarterback once told he could never replace the legend standing across from him.

Trailing 16–7 at halftime inside a roaring Acrisure Stadium, Jordan Love took full command of the spotlight, completing 29 of 37 passes for 360 yards and 3 touchdowns, leading the Packers to a

35–25 comeback victory over Aaron Rodgers and the Steelers on Sunday Night Football.

Love delivered one of the finest performances of his career, including 20 straight completions, tying Brett Favre’s franchise record. And he did it while beating the man who set the standard in Green Bay for over a decade.

Tight end Tucker Kraft was unstoppable, racking up 143 receiving yards and 2 touchdowns, with 131 yards coming after the catch — a national-TV breakout that silenced anyone who questioned his role as Love’s new favorite weapon.

Wide receiver Christian Watson, returning from his ACL injury, added four catches for 85 yards, while rookie Savion Williams celebrated his first NFL touchdown. Running back Josh Jacobs

also punched in a vital 3-yard score to swing the momentum fully Green Bay’s way in the fourth quarter.

Meanwhile, the Packers’ defense flipped an entirely different script after halftime.

Rashan Gary (2 sacks) and Micah Parsons (1 sack) repeatedly broke into the pocket, forcing Rodgers into rushed decisions. Linebacker Edgerrin Cooper forced a fourth-quarter fumble, and Ty’Ron Hopper knocked away a two-point conversion attempt that shut the door on any Steelers miracle.

The win not only ends a painful 55-year drought in Pittsburgh — it signals that Green Bay’s newest era is no longer in waiting. It has arrived.

Rodgers finished with

219 yards and 2 TDs in a mixed night for Pittsburgh’s offense, which stalled repeatedly under pressure after a strong first half. The Steelers drop to 4–3, now facing a tougher stretch ahead featuring the surging Colts.

For the Packers, now 5-1-1 and perched atop the NFC North, a home matchup with Carolina awaits in Week 9 — and for the first time in a long time, the league must look at Jordan Love and say:

Green Bay chose right.
