Even Super Bowl champions need some quiet time — and for Patrick Mahomes, that peace comes when he’s alone behind the wheel.
But don’t expect him to be blasting his famous friend Taylor Swift.
🚗 Mahomes’ Driving Confession
Speaking with Kansas City’s 96.5 The Fan, the Kansas City Chiefs superstar quarterback admitted that his car isn’t filled with curated playlists or celebrity soundtracks.
“It kinda depends on the mood I’m in,” he said.
“Sometimes I just hit shuffle. I don’t have a lot of playlists — except for game day.”
Mahomes revealed he flips between old hits, new bangers, and the occasional podcast — anything that keeps his mind relaxed before he switches back into quarterback mode.
🎧 No Taylor on the Stereo — Just Laughter and ‘I Spy’
While fans might imagine him listening to Taylor Swift’s ‘Wildest Dreams’, Mahomes laughed off the idea of having a go-to artist.
“I just hit shuffle,” he said. “I’ll listen to comedy podcasts too, just to keep it light.”
Instead of jamming to Swift’s chart-toppers, Mahomes’ favorite soundtrack comes from his kids — Sterling (4), Bronze (2), and baby Golden (11 months).
“My favorite is when I ride around with my kids and we play I Spy,” he shared fondly. “Those are the moments I’ll remember for the rest of my life.”
🏈 A Glimpse at the Man Behind the Helmet
The revelation adds another layer to Mahomes’ off-field life — a side that’s less about pressure and playbooks, and more about peace and parenting.
He calls his solo car rides “sacred,” admitting he sometimes hates answering calls during them.
“Those drives are my time to decompress,” he said. “It’s not about the music — it’s about clearing my head.”
So while Travis Kelce’s fiancée might rule the pop charts, it’s clear that Patrick Mahomes’ playlist belongs to family first, football second — and fame somewhere way down the road.
