Bryson DeChambeau has had his say on his future with LIV Golf, with the US Open champion doubling down his commitment to his Crushers franchise, expressing his hopes to build a “lasting legacy”.

Rumours on social media this week claimed that DeChambeau’s was lining up a return to the PGA Tour next year, with his LIV contract allegedly ending at the end of the current season. LIV Golf sources have since confirmed to Mirror Sport that DeChambeau and his fellow captains are “are committed to the long-term success and future of their teams and the league,”.

Mirror Sport also understands that the American’s contract does not expire this season, and runs into 2026.

DeChambeau himself has now discussed where his future lies, after the two-time major champion conducted his press conference duties ahead of this week’s LIV event in Hong Kong.

Affirming his LIV commitments when asked about a PGA Tour return, he replied: “No, I’m very excited about the future of LIV Golf. I’m very excited to be the captain of the Crushers and continue our legacy that we’re starting to create. That’s my goal is to create this lasting legacy where we impact millions and millions of golfers’ lives around the world.

“That should tell you everything you should know.” DeChambeau also went on discuss what future he sees for the league itself, adding: “I continue to see LIV Golf growing. It’s going to grow at an exponentiating pace for years to come, and we aren’t going anywhere.”

Talk of LIV players making a return to the PGA Tour has intensified in recent months with the Tour continuing to negotiate a peace deal with the Public Investment Fund of Saudi Arabia (PIF). Having been in talks since announcing a framework agreement in June 2023, the PGA Tour drafted in President Donald Trump to help accelerate the negotiations.

Many are hopeful that a peace deal will result in lifting bans for players from the rival league. PGA Tour commissioner Jay Monahan spoke about the ongoing discussions at the Arnold Palmer Invitational this week, stating: “We had a recent meeting with the President, the Public Investment Fund, thought it was a constructive meeting.

“And we’re thankful for the President for his leadership, extremely thankful for him, for his willingness to host us in the Oval Office, and to help us continue those conversations. I feel like if you look at his commentary last week as ultimately seeing a deal happening and Yasir Al-Rumayyan’s comments at the FII about the good meeting that we had, I think we’ll just continue to move forward on those conversations.”
