After visiting a school funded by his foundation, he decided to take a walk nearby to better understand the lives of the children he supports. Suddenly, he found himself in a massive landfill, where hundreds of impoverished people, including many children, rummage through the trash to survive day by day. There, Jannik saw a boy of about ten years old, skinny and dirty, searching alone through bag after bag for scraps of food. Homeless and without schooling, the boy’s only companion is an old tennis ball found among the garbage. He dreams of one day playing tennis like the “tall man with red hair” he sees on TV — none other than Jannik Sinner himself. Jannik was paralyzed, unable to hold back his tears.
