Fans Concerned With Tiger Woods’ Appearance Before the Masters

Fans worried about Tiger Woods.

Nearly every golf fan on the planet knows Tiger Woods isn’t teeing it up at the Masters this weekend after undergoing surgery to repair a torn Achilles in March.

“As I began to ramp up my own training and practice at home, I felt a sharp pain in my left Achilles, which was deemed to be ruptured. This morning, Dr. Charlton Stucken of Hospital for Special Surgery in West Palm Beach, Florida performed a minimally-invasive Achilles tendon repair for a ruptured tendon,” he said in a statement at the time.

What fans don’t seem to know, though, is the physical toll taken on Woods’ body following the surgery. Earlier this week the 15-time major champion wasn’t spotted at the Champion’s Dinner ahead of the Masters, but he had a good reason for skipping the event.

“We were putting our jackets away and the guys said that Tiger still can’t put weight on his foot,” 1971 Masters winner Charles Coody told Doug Stutsman of Golfweek. “They said his weight tolerance just isn’t there to climb up those stairs.”

While he isn’t stepping foot on Augusta National, Woods did make a virtual appearance when announcing his new partnership with the golf club. Several social media accounts expressed concern for the five-time major champion after watching the video.

Uhhhhhhhh

I know it’s an off limits topic in the golf world but…

“Uhhhhhhhh I know it’s an off limits topic in the golf world but… He does not look great here. Looks like the Genesis interview from 2021,” one account said.

More than a few suggested it was allergy related.

“any real fan of tiger knows about his allergies the south this time of the year is more pollen than oxygen,” one person noted.

“Well he is damn near 50 and he had like 1000 operations. All in all he looks ok,” suggested another.

“Father Time takes no prisoners,” astutely offered another.

Woods will be watching from home, like most fans, when the Masters tees off at 7:40 a.m. ET on Thursday, April 10.
