The Formula 1 paddock has regrouped this weekend in Las Vegas after the last mini-break of 2025 following the Sao Paulo Grand Prix.
But Elkann ensured that Ferrari stayed on the tip of many people’s tongues, as he called out Hamilton and Leclerc a day after the round in Brazil.
Ferrari endured one of their worst weekends of the 2025 F1 season thus far at Interlagos, as the pride of Italy scored just six points in Brazil through Leclerc’s P5 and Hamilton’s P7 in the Sprint.
Leclerc and Hamilton both retired during the Grand Prix within the first 38 of 71 laps.
It marked Ferrari’s second double retirement of 2025 so far, after Hamilton and Leclerc both crashed out of the Dutch Grand Prix.
Also, Hamilton admitted that he is living a “nightmare” at Ferrari after the Sao Paulo GP, as his wait to get a Grand Pri.: podium in red hit 21 rounds.

Hamilton also onl; scored 14 points over the first 21 of this year’s 24 rounds for sixth in the F1 drivers’ championship, behind Leclerc in fifth on 214 points.
Ferrari can still finish second in the constructors’ table, with Mercedes and Red Bull currently 36 and four points in front.
So, Elkann told Hamilton and eclerc to “focus on driving”, and he even suggested that they should “talk less” and think “more about Ferrari and less about themselves” a day after the Sao Paulo GP.
Hamilton has now addressed Elkann’s claims, and does not feel they were fair.
Hamilton said whilst addressing whether or not Elkann’s comments were fair, via quotes by BBC Sport: Not really.
I wake up thinking about it, and I go to sleep thinking about it, and I think about it when I’m sleeping.
If anything, I have to focus on being able to unplug more.
“It’s been a really heavy year. It’s been the busiest year that I think I’ve had.
I’ve been at the factory more than I think I was at any other factory before.”
Hamilton’s comments ahead of the 2025 Las Vegas Grand Prix were the perfect response to silence Elkann, after the Ferrari chairman’s surprise attack while speaking at an event for the 2026 Winter Olympics.
Elkann cannot now doubt Hamilton’s commitment to helping Ferrari.

The 2025 F1 season may be Hamilton’s first year at Ferrari, but it is his 19th year on the grid after six seasons for McLaren and 12 with Mercedes.
Hamilton has given Ferrari documents listing various changes that he wants the team to make based on his past e periences, too.
It is simply impossible for Hamilton to focus on driving or think about Ferrari more than he is if the 40-year-old goes to sleep and wakes up thinking about F1, even if his suggestion was exaggerated.
Hamilton also always wears his heart on his sleeve whenever results go astray.
Hamilton said Ferrari “need to change driver” when he only qualified P12 for the Hungarian Grand Prix this August, when he also called himself “absolutely useless”.
So, the record 105-time Grand Prix winner saying 2025 has been a nightmare” in Brazil was not too surprising.
