Charlie Woods, the son of Tiger Woods, could not win tickets to the US Open 2025 after hitting 75 sticks (+3) at Wellington Golf Club in Florida, in an effort to enter the final round of this prestigious tournament.
Charlie Woods participated in one of the regional qualifying events, where only a limited number of players could reach the final round at one of the 13 qualifying locations before the US Open 2025 at Oakmont next month.
Specifically, Charlie Woods is 7 sticks inferior to the score of 68 needed to enter the final qualifying round, with golfers such as Arth Sinha (66), Matthew Marigliano (67), Tyler Stachkunas (68) and Carson Kiawonn (68) are those who cross the qualifying round. Although not eligible to attend the final round, Charlie’s 75 score was still an improvement compared to last year’s achievement when he hit 81 sticks (+9) at Legacy Golf & Tennis Club.
Charlie Woods, a young talent, appeared in 5 PNC Championships with Father Tiger Woods, had a successful 2024 season when he was eligible to attend the US Junior Amateur Championship for the first time. However, he could not go deep into the fighting rounds at Southern Hills. With the age limit participating in US Junior is 18, Charlie has three more years to join this tournament.
Returning to the big golf course earlier this year, Charlie attended the Sage Valley Junior Invitational, a prestigious tournament, and ended in the T25 position with +11 sticks after the 78, 73, 73 and 75 rounds.
The upcoming PNC Championship with Father Tiger may have difficulty after Tiger Woods undergo Achilles heel surgery in March. PNC Championship takes place in December, nine months after Tiger’s surgery, and because the tournament allows the use of carts, it may be an opportunity for the Woods father and son to continue playing, though nothing guarantee. Last year, Charlie and Tiger lost to the Langer team in a play-off, could only win the second place in the family tournament, this tournament was open to warriors.
