🔴”FAMILY IS MY MOTIVATION” Rory McIlroy Opens Up About New London Home with Erica Stoll After Zurich Classic Setback👇

LONDON, UK – April 29, 2025 – Rory McIlroy, the 2025 Masters champion, has given fans a rare glimpse into his personal life following a disappointing T12 finish at the Zurich Classic last week.

In an exclusive interview with The Times published today, the Northern Irish golf star opened up about his new family home in London, which he shares with wife Erica Stoll and their daughter Poppy, 4. McIlroy, who has been navigating the highs and lows of a tumultuous year both on and off the course, revealed that his family is the driving force behind his resilience, stating, “Family is my motivation—everything I do is for them.”

The McIlroys recently settled into their new $10 million Georgian-style mansion in the upscale Kensington district of London, a move that comes nearly a year after the couple faced a highly publicized near-divorce in May 2024. McIlroy had filed for divorce citing an “irretrievable breakdown,” but the couple reconciled just a month later, with McIlroy stating at the time, “We realized our best future is together” (per The Guardian). The new London home, which features six bedrooms, a private garden, and a state-of-the-art gym, symbolizes a fresh start for the family. “It’s a place where we can grow as a family,” McIlroy told The Times. “Poppy loves her new room, and Erica has made it our sanctuary.”

McIlroy’s comments come on the heels of a challenging performance at the Zurich Classic 2025, where he and partner Shane Lowry, the defending champions, struggled to find their rhythm, finishing at 22-under, well behind winners Andrew Novak and Ben Griffin (28-under). The loss marked a rare setback for McIlroy, who has been in top form this year, winning three PGA Tour events, including the Masters in April, where he completed the career Grand Slam. Reflecting on the Zurich Classic, McIlroy admitted, “We weren’t at our best, but it’s a team event, and sometimes it just doesn’t click. I’m already looking forward to the next challenge.”

Despite the setback, McIlroy’s focus remains firmly on his family as he prepares for the upcoming Truist Championship (May 8-11) and PGA Championship (May 15-18) at Quail Hollow, where he’s a four-time winner. “Erica and Poppy keep me grounded,” he shared. “No matter what happens on the course, coming home to them puts everything in perspective.” Fans on X have been touched by McIlroy’s candor, with one writing, “Rory’s love for his family is so inspiring—makes me root for him even more!” Another posted, “New London home for the McIlroys? That’s the kind of fresh start they deserve.”

McIlroy also hinted at plans to spend more time in London during the off-season, balancing his hectic tour schedule with family life. “I want Poppy to grow up knowing her dad’s there for her,” he said. As he gears up for a crucial stretch of tournaments, McIlroy’s new home and renewed family focus may just be the foundation he needs to reclaim his winning form. The golf world will be watching closely as he tees off at the Truist Championship next week, aiming to put the Zurich Classic behind him.
